Colliding stars and black holes: Gravity Exploration in Cardiff by Cardiff University School of Physics and Astronomy, 29th - 30th May 2018
With detections of both binary black holes and a binary neutron star, the field of gravitational-wave astronomy has truly begun. This two-day workshop will focus on what we've learned from multi-messenger observations of gravitational-wave sources, and their implications for the future. The second day will also include hands-on sessions on accessing and using gravitational-wave data.
The evening of May 29th will feature a Public Lecture by Nobel Laureate Barry Barish, followed by a banquet held at the beautiful National Museum Cardiff.
