The International Space Science Institute (ISSI) in Bern, Switzerland, invites applications for a Post-Doctoral Position in Astrophysics and/or Cosmology for a two-year period, ideally starting in May 2018 (or by agreement). The successful candidate should have received a Ph.D. within the last five years in the field of Astrophysics and/or Cosmology, his/her work should be related to Space Sciences.
All applications must be received by ISSI no later than January 15, 2018.
The successful candidate is expected to pursue his/her own independent research program, he/she will participate in ISSI’s research and meetings program, and will work in close contact with the scientific staff of the Institute. He/she may also participate as a member in projects conducted by international teams at ISSI, or even lead one. Thus he/she will be exposed to, and interact with, a numerous and varied community of scientists from throughout the world. ISSI furthermore encourages cooperation with Swiss universities.
Salary and conditions of employment will be similar to those provided by the Swiss National Science Foundation. Nationals from ESA Member States shall have priority.
