30th Texas Symposium on Relativistic Astrophysics

Dec 15, 2019

30th Texas Symposium on Relativistic Astrophysics at Institute of Cosmology and Gravitation (ICG), University of Portsmouth, UK from December 15-20, 2019.

The 30th Texas Symposium on Relativistic Astrophysics will take place from Sunday 15 to Friday 20 December 2019 in the historic seaside city of Portsmouth, UK. The Texas meetings have covered topics such as black holes, gravitational waves, neutron stars, cosmic rays, dark matter and the early Universe since the first symposium, held in Dallas in 1963. Following the tradition of previous meetings, the 2019 Symposium will cover a broad range of subjects in relativistic astrophysics, including:

  • Gravity: Test of Gravity, Modified Gravity, Quantum Gravity, Numerical Relativity
  • Cosmology: CMB, Reionisation, Early Universe, LSS, Lensing, Supernovae, Dark Energy, Simulations
  • Gravitational Waves: Modelling, Sources, Experiments, Pulsar timing
  • Messengers: Cosmic Rays, Gamma Rays, X-Rays, Neutrinos
  • Relativity At Work: Black holes, AGN, Quasars, Neutron stars, Discs, Jets & Magnetic Fields

Abstract submission deadline is 27th September. Early-bird registration fee payment deadline is 25th October. Registration closes 22nd of November.
Update: Deadline for abstract submission now extended to 7th October.

Institute of Cosmology and Gravitation

The 2019 meeting will be hosted by the University of Portsmouth’s Institute of Cosmology and Gravitation (ICG). The ICG is an internationally-recognised centre for research in cosmology, astrophysics and gravitation. ICG researchers investigate the very early universe, dark energy and modified gravity, large-scale structure, gravitational lensing, supernovae, gravitational waves, galaxy evolution and stellar population modelling, the first stars in the Universe. ICG also has an active programme of outreach and public engagement, inspiring the next generation of scientists through school visits, public lectures, stargazing nights and media appearances.
