LISA in Norway and Scandinavia

Apr 16, 2020

The workshop aims at broadening the LISA community in Scandinavia, discussing the scientific/technological challenges of the LISA mission, brainstorming on how Scandinavia can further contribute to LISA, and exploring partnerships among fundamental science, data science and technology centers linked to the Scandinavian region.

This meeting is planned to be the first of a series of events aimed at building a concrete strategy for the forthcoming years. The goal of this first event is:

  • to consolidate and broaden the LISA community in Scandinavia
  • to explain and discuss the timeline and scientific/technological challenges of the LISA mission
  • to identify the LISA tasks that fit best the Scandinavian potential
  • to explore partnerships among fundamental science, data science and technology centers in Scandinavia

The first part of the event will be mostly dedicated to the gravitational wave science that may be probed by LISA. The second part will focus on the organizational aspects.

University of Stavanger really encourages everybody potentially interested in strengthening and broadening the Scandinavian involvement in LISA to participate. The deadline for abstract submission is April 6th but earlier submissions are appreciated.

Participants asking for childcare should register as soon as possible and not later than March 4th.
