Assistant Professor in Experimental Astrophysics, University of Florida
The Department of Physics at the University of Florida invites applications for a full-time, nine-month, tenure-track Assistant Professor position in experimental astrophysics to begin August 16, 2017.
The department seeks to enlarge its footprint in gravitational wave detector physics and the search for experimental dark matter. In addition, the department seeks to expand its research portfolio into new areas of experimental astrophysics. The successful candidate will build on the strength of the existing gravitational wave detector (LIGO, LISA) and dark matter detection groups (ADMX, ALPS, CDMS), and/or develop new programs. The successful candidate will contribute to undergraduate and graduate student education and is expected to join the Institute for High Energy and Particle Astrophysics (IHEPA) at the University of Florida.
