The Department of Physics in the Faculty of Science at the University of Helsinki invites applications for a PROFESSOR OR ASSISTANT/ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR.
The deadline for applications is 15.10.2018.

The field of the position is in gravitational wave cosmology, and it will be based in the Particle Physics and Astrophysics Division of the Department. The position is part of the University of Helsinki profiling action on Matter and Materials, aiming to strengthen new interdisciplinary research areas in this strategic research area of the university. The aim of the position is to conduct globally leading theoretical research and teaching in cosmology and applicable particle physics, with special emphasis on primordial gravitational waves.

The Department of Physics and the adjoining Helsinki Institute of Physics form the largest research center in cosmology and particle physics in Finland. The University of Helsinki is a member of the LISA (Laser Interferometer Space Antenna) consortium. The Faculty of Science also hosts the University of Helsinki part of the Finnish Grid and Cloud Infrastructure for scientific computing, and has access via applications to the supercomputing facilities of the Finnish IT Centre for Science CSC.
